Description

Nos 27 and 29 on High Street in Sandgate are an early 19th-century pair of three-storey buildings made of painted brick, featuring a stone parapet. They have four sash windows, with most of the glazing bars still intact, except for the ground floor of No 27. The ground floor of No 27 includes a 19th-century shopfront and a shop door with a rectangular fanlight. There is a central double doorcase with rectangular fanlights and two six-panelled doors. No 29 has garage doors currently. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 23 to 39, along with a cottage behind No 39 and Nos 41 to 65, which also includes 43A, 45A, 55A, and 61A. Nos 31 to 37 are noted as buildings of local interest.
