Description
No. 43 High Street is a building dating from the 18th century to the early 19th century, with a later addition from the 19th century. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of white brick, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The building features a brick dentil cornice and has two sash windows with intact glazing bars, including a three-light sash on the first floor. A later 19th-century shopfront has been added to the building. The rear elevation has a roof with two hips and two windows, one of which is a three-light canted bay.
No. 43 is part of a group with Nos 23 to 39 (odd), the cottage behind No. 39, and Nos 41 to 65 (odd), including 43A, 45A, 55A, and 61A. Nos 31 to 37 are noted as buildings of local interest.
