Description

This is an 18th to early 19th century building on the south side of High Street in Sandgate. It is a narrow, three-storey structure clad in weatherboard. The building has a parapet, and the second floor features a wooden mullioned and transomed casement window. A three-light canted bay window is located on the first floor. A 19th-century shop front is present. To the left of the building is a weatherboarded passageway supported by four cast iron columns. Numbers 23 to 39 (odd) form a group with the cottage to the rear of number 39, and with numbers 41 to 65 (odd), including 43A, 45A, 55A, and 61A. Buildings numbered 31 to 37 are recognised as buildings of local interest.
