Description

These are a pair of shops dating from the mid-18th century, situated on the west side of Fleetgate in Barton upon Humber. They are constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof, although the roof of number 49 is more modern. Number 47 has a single sloped dormer window. A dentil brick cornice runs along the eaves. Number 47 features a canted bay window with glazing bars on the first floor, and a three-light sliding sash window with glazing bars above a 19th-century shop front. There is also a flat passage archway. Number 49 has a two-light sliding sash window with glazing bars, and a blocked window above a 19th-century shop front with two windows and a central doorway.
