Description

No 55, which includes No 53, is an early 19th-century building located on the west side of Fleetgate. It is two storeys high, constructed of brick, and features a pantile roof with a diagonal-set brick eaves cornice. No 53 has two small modern casement windows above a large late 19th-century shop front. No 55, which is now occupied by No 57, has one hung sash window with replaced glazing bars on both storeys, set within a flush wood case. There is a passage archway leading to a plain door, a blocked rectangular fanlight, and a wood lintel above. Nos 47 to 59 (odd) form a group.
