Description
46 Fleetgate is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is finished in stucco. It features a hipped Welsh slate roof with wide eaves. The main section has five hung sash windows, and the first floor is rusticated. There is a moulded cornice separating the two storeys. The ground floor is distinguished by Ionic pilasters between the bays and a central Ionic column porch that leads to a door with six fielded panels beneath a traceried fanlight. To the left, there is a slightly recessed section with an arched ground floor sash window, which is below smaller windows on the two upper floors, aligning in height with the main section. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 46 to 64 (even) and the White Swan Hotel.
