Description
Ivy Cottage is a small house dating from the mid-18th century with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick with blue headers for detailing and has an old plain tile roof. The building is two stories high and features a symmetrical three-bay façade, with low additions to the rear on the right and a 1½-story bay added to the left.
The central entrance has a 20th-century flat-roofed brick porch that contains an 18th-century door with six flush panels and a top light. On either side of the porch are 20th-century replacement three-light casement windows set under segmental gauged brick arches. A string course runs along the first floor, featuring a blue header course. The central section has a recessed blue header panel, flanked by two 19th-century wide six-pane sash windows, which have timber lintels that break a dentilled cornice. The house has end stacks and a three-light casement window in the left addition, which has a tall slate roof.
