Description
Freemantle is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of brick in header bond, featuring blue bricks and an added brick and tile-hung bay, topped with a plain tile roof. The house is L-shaped and has two storeys, with a four-bay road elevation and a two-bay wing to the left at the rear, along with an early 20th-century bay added to the right.
The entrance features a classical door and doorcase with a six-panel door and a pediment above. To the left, there is a 16-pane sash window with a segmental head. To the right, a tall leaded staircase cross window is present, followed by a 19th-century segmental head three-light casement window. In the 19th-century bay, there is another 16-pane sash window. On the first floor, the left bays have blind segmental openings, while the right bay contains a three-light casement and a large three-light casement with a gabled dormer above. The roof is hipped and features two early 20th-century three-light hipped dormers over the right bays, along with a ridge stack positioned above the door.
