Description
Wayside Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster infill and a rendered addition, topped with a tile roof. The building has three bays and an outshot, with raised eaves that create a two-storey effect. A 19th-century open gabled timber porch is located at the right of the centre bay, which also contains a 19th-century four-panel door. The other bays and the outshot have 20th-century one and two-light casements, while the left bay has a small 17th-century two-light casement behind a glazed screen. The first floor is constructed of plastered brick and includes two 20th-century two-light casements. The roof is hipped and sweeps down over the outshot.
