Description

Thatch Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with an addition from the 18th century. It features a timber-frame construction with brick infill and additional elements, topped with a colourwashed roof that is thatched with plain tiles around the edges and on the dormer. The building is 1½ storeys high and has two bays, with an 18th-century bay added to the right. The entrance is located to the right of centre, accessed through a 20th-century flat-roofed brick porch. In the right bay, there is a 20th-century leaded single casement window, while to the left, there is a 19th and 20th-century two-light leaded casement window, revealing the exposed timber-frame. Above the central bay, there is a two-light leaded casement window set in a gabled dormer, which has a wide area of tiling surrounding it. The roof is half-hipped, featuring a ridge stack positioned above the door and a free-standing stack at the right end.
