Description

Blacksmiths Farm House is a house with a 17th-century core, significantly altered in the 18th and early 19th centuries and restored in the 20th century. The house has a timber-frame construction, encased in bands of brick and flint, with a thatched roof. It is two storeys high and five bays wide. A six-panel door with half-glazed panels is located to the right of the centre, sheltered by a moulded flat hood. Three-light casement windows are found in all bays, with two-light casements to the right. Similar casements are present on the first floor. Tablets are positioned above the door, reading 'RHE 1741', and between the right bays, reading 'THS 1741'. The roof is half-hipped. A large ridge stack is situated between the left bays, and another ridge stack is immediately to the right of the front door.
