Description

The war memorial is located on the north side of Over Wallop Station and was built in the early 20th century by Gething & Co from Salisbury. It is constructed from Chilmark stone and features five octagonal steps leading up to a square plinth with spurs. The shaft of the memorial begins as a square section and transitions to an octagonal shape, topped with an octagonal cross. Surrounding the memorial are four stone pillars with rounded tops, which were originally inscribed with the names of those who served in the war. The memorial is situated on a traffic island.
