Description
The Old Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features a rendered front with flint walls and a tiled roof. The symmetrical front, facing west, has two storeys and an attic, with two windows. The roof includes two dormers with hipped roofs and casements, and there is a fully-moulded modillion eaves cornice. The walls are plain with a plinth, and the windows are sash style. The doorway has a moulded canopy, which is broken above by carved brackets, and a plain frame that encloses a fanlight, leading to a 20th-century French door.
At the rear, there are two early 19th-century wings that enclose a narrower central staircase wing. These wings have flint walls with brick quoins, bands, a flat arch, and some cambered arches, along with a plinth. The windows here are casements. The doorway on the north side features a bold canopy on large carved brackets, while the south side has a slate roof supported on carved brackets. Above the central doorway, there is a moulded stone plaque inscribed "Andrew and Elizabeth Leggat 1724."
