Description
Culdrose House is a late 19th-century building located on Frederick Street in Aldershot. It has been reconstructed behind and had its facade slightly altered in 1981. This building is part of an early terrace in the rapidly growing town. It stands two storeys above a semi-basement, with each unit featuring two windows above one window. Despite a slight slope in the ground, the slate roof remains unstepped. The walls are made of yellow brick in Flemish bond, with stucco features. The parapet has a fully-moulded dentil cornice, and the window openings are adorned with a moulded cornice supported by ornamental brackets. The doorways are coupled within a simple order, with pilasters that have been converted to windows with balconettes. The roof is not visible from the street. There are cast-iron railings along the street front and leading to the single entrance steps. The modern block built behind the facade is not of special interest.
