Description
No 1 and 2 New Cottages are a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from red brick and feature plain tile roofs. The cottages are 1½ storeys high and have a symmetrical design with two bays. Each cottage has a half-glazed door in the outer bay, which is set under a stone lintel. The inner bay has a flat roof and canted shape, adorned with Gothick windows. The front of the cottages features two pointed windows with a quatrefoil above each, along with a similar two-light casement window that has a quatrefoil set between the lights. These windows have stone sills and lintels, and one window is partially located in a gabled dormer. The roofs are finished with combed ridge tiles, and there are stacks on either side of the ridge at the center.
