Description
Fernleigh Cottages is a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from red brick, featuring yellow and blue brick dressings and decorative elements, and have a slate roof. The cottages are one storey high and consist of three bays, with projecting wings at the end bays. The central bay has a large, four-centred head, half-glazed door, and is adorned with wide decorative bands. The projecting gabled end bays include yellow quoins and blue diaperwork. On the ground floor, there is a timber canted oriel window with a hipped roof, situated above blue diaperwork, alongside a two-light casement window in the gable, which has carved bargeboards. All windows are cast-iron lozenge pane casements.
