Description
New Cottages is a range of three estate cottages built around the 1860s. The cottages are constructed from polychrome red and black brick, with the first floor being tile-hung and featuring bands of shaped tiles. They have a gabled roof covered with clay plain tiles and brick axial stacks. The layout consists of three cottages, with No. 2 in the center and Nos. 1 and 3 in cross-wings at either end, reflecting a Victorian Picturesque style. The exterior is one storey with an attic and presents a symmetrical four-bay front. It features gabled projecting cross-wings on the left and right, and a tiled canopy over the central verandah, which has two gabled dormers above. The windows are diamond lattice casements, with two and three lights, and those on the ground floor have cambered brick arches. The doors are made of planks. The interiors have not been inspected.
