Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating to the 16th century, and altered in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The site is believed to have been part of a monastic grange. It is constructed of reused rubble stone with brick additions, and has a slate roof. The main front is three bays wide, with a projecting stack bay to the left of centre, which has a gabled porch with a half-glazed door and side lights. There are 19th-century hip-roofed canted bay windows on either side of the stack bay, with four-pane sashes facing the front; the one on the right is set between the bays. The hip-roofed sections have three-light casement windows. The first floor has three-light casement windows in every bay except the stack bay, with a two-light gabled dormer window to the right of centre and over the left-hand bays. The roof is hipped, with stacks at the top of each hip and a central stack set against the ridge. There are wings to the rear.
