Description
The Job Centre, formerly a house, is now a shop located on the north side of Ringwood High Street. It dates from the mid-18th century and was refronted in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brick, with the front stuccoed, and features a slate roof, while the rear range has a tile roof. It is two storeys high with two bays and a three-bay wing at the rear set at an angle.
The front façade includes round-headed archways at each end of the ground floor, each with a glazed door underneath. Between these archways is a part shop window consisting of two plate glass windows, which are topped by two semi-circular lights. Above the right side, there is a cross with a bracket at each end. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century metal casement windows that fit within the original window openings. The building has an end stack. The rear of the building is older brickwork featuring 18th-century 12-pane sash windows.
