Description

This building, originally a house and now serving as three shops and offices, dates from the early 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick, with some moulded brick and stone dressings, and features a plain tile roof. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and consists of four wide bays, along with a wing and low additions at the rear.

The front of the building has three shops and an entrance. To the left of the central bay is a recessed entrance with shops on either side. The left bay includes a plate glass window and a fascia that extends across the top of the entrance. The right side has two plate glass windows with a fascia running over both. On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows, altered in the 19th century, set under rubbed arches with raised keys. The building has a raised eaves cornice and projecting eaves with a moulded gutter, along with four two-light gabled dormers. The roof is half-hipped on the right side.

At the right end, set in from the corners, are two raised giant Ionic pilasters topped with a modillioned cornice that wraps around at the eaves level. A moulded brick pediment with an oculus is situated between the pilasters, which also feature a pair of round-headed archways with raised keystones and imposts. On the first floor, there are two four-pane sashes within segmental-headed, lugged architraves that have raised keystones. The details of the pilasters are finished in painted stone.
