DOWNTON HORDLE (A337) Lea Green Farm House

2. Farmhouse, formerly cottages. Early C18, extended and altered late C18 and early C19. Main block has red brick walls with grey headers; first, rear, addition timber-framed above first floor level with brick nogging and tile hanging; later addition to right red brick. Roofs tiled, except addition to right, grey slate. Brick stacks. Main block originally two cottages indicated by blocked doors to centre and left hand, under segmental heads. Two storeys, now with doorway to right with hood carried on consoles and narrow pilasters, two windows to left, sashes with glazing bars. Plain projecting brick band at first floor level. Extension to right higher, with 1 similar window per floor. Gable stacks. Remains of single storey extension to left. Derelict at time of inspection (1985); interior not explored.
