Description

Barn Cottage is a late medieval building located on Hordle Lane in Downton. It is timber framed with red brick infill and features a thatched roof, rising to one and a half storeys. The cottage has tipper windows with late 19th-century glazing, while the lower windows are early 19th-century casements with glazing bars. Barn Cottage is part of a group of buildings of local interest, which includes the Royal Gate Public House, the Forge, and Jacks Cottage on Lymington Road.
