Description

Tudor Cottage is a building dating from the 15th, 16th, and 18th centuries. It features a late medieval timber-framed hall, which had a fireplace added in the 16th century. The cottage is two storeys high, with the frame exposed at the rear and infilled with painted brickwork. The front has a later brick-clad elevation with three windows and an outshot at the south end. It has a red tile roof that is half-hipped at the north end and includes a shafted stack. The openings in the painted brickwork are cambered, and a former door has been filled in. The windows are casements with leaded lights, some of which are old. Inside, there is a section of primitive wall painting from the 16th century and a piece of Jacobean plasterwork with raised decoration.
