Description
The Clock Tower at Newlands Manor, located in the garden of Garden Cottage, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is situated in the center of what was originally the kitchen garden of the house, although it is suggested that it may have been part of earlier stables. The tower has a square section and stands on four square columns, with a round-headed arch between them on each side. The ground floor and the inset section above are faced with Roman cement. Above this, there is a further inset section made of red brick, topped with an octagonal cupola that contains a bell and is surmounted by a dome and weather-vane. The listed buildings on the Newlands Manor Estate form a group.
