Description

Ivy House, also known as No 63, along with Twynham House (No 64) and No 65, is a group of three houses dating from the 18th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick and feature roof lines that step down from the adjacent church. No 63 has a higher elevation than Nos 64 and 65 and consists of three storeys plus a basement. It has three sash windows with glazing bars and a doorway accessed by three steps, which is flanked by engaged columns and topped with a pediment and a semi-circular fanlight. The door itself is a six-panel design, with the top two panels now glazed. At the rear, there is a Venetian window on the first and second floors. The property is complemented by contemporary iron railings surrounding the area forecourt.

No 64 features a coped parapet with a stone band below, three storeys, and an attic with one dormer. It has two sash windows with glazing bars and a round-arched doorway that includes a semi-circular fanlight and a six-panel door.

No 65 also has a coped parapet with a stone band below, three storeys, and two windows along with one window space. Its windows are sash with glazing bars, and it has a round-arched doorway with a semi-circular fanlight and a six-panel door.

The Parish Church forms a group with its wall, gates, and piers, the War Memorial, and Nos 63 to 68 (consecutive).
