Description
The wall with a tablet, gate piers, and gate to the Parish Church of St Thomas the Apostle dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features two pairs of square, capped brick gate piers that are surfaced with rusticated rendering. The iron gates are present, although the eastern ones are damaged and have a damaged overthrow. The low churchyard wall includes a stone commemorative tablet from 1832, which notes the lighting of the town by gas. This structure is part of a group that includes the church, the wall, the gates and piers, the War Memorial, and Nos. 63 to 68.
