Description
The area railings at No 68 Old Bank House date from the early 19th century and are made of iron with spearhead finials. The building itself is stuccoed and features fluted engaged columns that flank the ground floor, which is set on advanced brick piers topped with a deep entablature. Above this, there are three pilasters leading to the eaves cornice and parapet. The structure consists of three storeys and a basement, with two sash windows that have glazing bars. The first-floor windows are set in moulded architrave surrounds with cornices above. The doorway includes a rectangular fanlight and a door with six moulded panels, also framed by a fluted architrave surround. The Parish Church forms a group with its wall, gates, and piers, the War Memorial, and Nos 63 to 68, which are consecutive.
