Description

This is an 18th-century red brick house, number 53 High Street. It has flanking pilasters, a cornice, and a panelled parapet. The building is three storeys high and has five sash windows without glazing bars. The doorway is stuccoed and features pilasters with a projecting cornice above. Some panelling remains inside. The property forms a group with the United Reform Church, the Old Manse, numbers 48 to 53, and the railings and gate to number 48 Bellevue House, as well as number 77 opposite.
