Description

Grosvenor House is an early 19th-century large house located on the south side of High Street. The facade is finished with grey Roman cement, extending to the cornice and parapet, with the roof hidden. Doric pilasters flank the outer window bays on the ground floor, while engaged Ionic columns feature in the central window bay. The house is three stories high and has five windows, with the central three bays recessed. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has been altered, with the original structure removed to leave the facade standing as supporting piers. Modern shop fronts now occupy the ground floor. The house forms a group with the United Reform Church, the Old Manse, numbers 48 to 53 (inclusive), the railings and gate to number 48, and number 77 opposite.
