Description
No. 3 West Street is a house that also serves as an office for engineering works, built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tile roof. The symmetrical front, facing south, has two storeys and four windows, topped with a hipped roof. The walls are made of blue headers with red flush dressings, and there is a parapet with stone coping and a brick-dentilled band that is raised in the center to form a pediment, which contains a diaper pattern. The building has quoins and openings set within vertical panels, featuring cambered rubbed arches with moulded keys. There is a projecting band on the first floor and a plinth at the base. The windows are Victorian sashes, and on the east side, the ground floor includes a late 19th-century shop window, complete with a cornice, end brackets, and pilasters.
