Description
Denvilles House is a house that has been converted into a club, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. The symmetrical front, facing south, is two storeys high with three windows. The hipped roof has bracketed eaves. The walls are made of yellow brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches and a stucco architrave, complete with a key, above the central opening. The upper sashes are set in reveals, and there are wide French windows on the ground floor. A prominent feature of the building is a wide verandah with five bays, including two bays on the return, supported by a Doric order of fluted columns that are coupled at the corners on each face. The doorway is framed by a slender architrave and features a fanlight designed with an oval, saltire, and curved lozenge pattern, along with a six-flush-panelled door.
