Description

This is an early 19th-century lodge, stables and associated service buildings enclosed by walls, located on Church Lane, Warblington. The walled enclosure is situated next to the Emsworth Road and contains a stable, a small, L-shaped service block, a cart-shed opening, and a single-storey cottage with an attic. The roadside wall is constructed of flint with brick dressings, with gables marking the end units. Decorative features include yellow brick verges, an eaves-level band, quoins, a quatrefoil window beneath a hoodmould within a steep pediment, and a window set within quoins on the ground floor of the cottage. The cottage has an outshot on its east side. All buildings are roofed with slate and have walls of red brick in a Flemish Garden wall bond. The cottage itself is of flint with yellow brick dressings, featuring both square, arched, and pointed openings. The windows are sash windows, and there's a half-glazed pointed doorway. The interior wall is of brickwork on a flint base, leading to one of two octagonal gateposts made of flint with yellow brick dressings, topped with stone caps.
