Description

Lyme Cottage is a building from the 18th century or earlier, located on Castle Street in Portchester. The facade is rendered with blue roughcast and features a steeply pitched old tiled roof. The cottage is a single storey and has two sash windows with moulded exposed frames and glazing bars. At the south end, there is also an entrance to No 188. Lyme Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 162 to 174 (even), the street boundary wall at No 174, Nos 182 to 190 (even), and No 196, as well as Nos 169 to 175 (odd), the railings and gate at No 169, and the street boundary wall at No 171. Notably, No 175 and No 196 are considered buildings of local interest.
