Description

The Old Bakehouse is an 18th-century building located on Castle Street, Portchester. It has a painted brick facade and a steeply pitched roof covered with old tiles. The building is two storeys high, with three windows. The upper floor windows are sash windows with exposed frames and glazing bars. The ground floor features a large, curved modern bay window with a cornice, alongside an unbarred sash window with a cambered head. A single-storey outshut extends from the north side, incorporating a sash window with margin lights. The building is part of a group which includes numbers 183, 185, 189, 193 to 201 (odd), 195A, 209 to 219 (odd), and 200 to 204 (even) opposite.
