Description

Oriel Cottage, located at 184 Castle Street in Portchester, is a building dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The facade is rendered with pink roughcast, and it features a steeply pitched old tiled roof with the gable end facing the road. The cottage has two storeys and includes one sash window with glazing bars. The door has top panels that are glazed. Oriel Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 162 to 174 (even), the street boundary wall at No 174, Nos 182 to 190 (even), and No 196, as well as Nos 169 to 175 (odd), the railings and gate at No 169, and the street boundary wall at No 171. Notably, No 175 and No 196 are recognized as buildings of local interest.
