Description
The dovecote at Cams Hall, located to the southwest of the stables, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and was altered in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed from red brick in English bond and features a plain tile roof. The building has a rectangular plan and consists of two storeys with two bays by one bay. The windows are 19th-century, round-arched, and have small-pane metal glazing. Most doorways are also from the 19th century, segmental-arched with board doors. The west side likely retains the original doorway, which has a later arch to the right of the center, along with first-floor windows. The east side has a central doorway with a window above it, while the north side features a doorway on the left and a first-floor window. The south side has a first-floor window. The hipped roof is largely collapsed. Inside, there is a 19th-century partition wall and brick bird holes at the upper level. At the time of inspection in October 1989, the dovecote was derelict and covered in ivy.
