21/318 Dovecote at Cams Hall, to south west of stables

GV II

Dovecote. Late C17 or early C18, altered mid-late C19. Red brick in English bond, plain tile roof. Rectangular on plan. 2 storeys; 2 x 1 bays. Windows are C19, round-arched, with small-pane metal glazing. Doorways are mostly C19, segmental-arched with board doors. West side has probably the original doorway, with later arch, to right of centre; first floor windows; east side has central doorway with window over; north side a doorway on left and first floor window; south side a first floor window. Hipped roof, largely collapsed. Interior: C19 partition wall; brick bird holes at upper level. Derelict and ivy-covered at time of inspection (October 1989).
