Description
The dovecote, located to the northeast of Hepscott Hall, is likely from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick in English Garden Wall Bond 1 & 4 and features a stone slate roof. The east elevation, facing the garden, includes a doorway and an altered 12-pane sash window, both topped with flat-arched heads. There are also twin pigeon holes with a stone alighting shelf above them, and the roof is low and pyramidal. The rear elevation has a later cart entrance and a boarded upper door, both supported by timber lintels, along with three slit openings beneath the eaves. At the time of the survey, the roof was noted to be in poor condition. The adjacent stable block to the south has been altered and is not considered of special interest.
