Description
The dovecote located approximately 20 meters northwest of Cox's Hall dates back to around 1739. It is constructed in Flemish bond with flared headers and features a stone slate roof, with tiles on the rear. The building has a flat brick arch over a low doorway and dentilled eaves, topped with a gabled roof. Inside, there are projecting brick perches for recessed nesting holes in all walls, and a 3-bay collar-truss roof supported by side struts and butt purlins. Attached to the right gable wall is a single-storey building from the mid-18th century, made with similar materials. This extension has 20th-century double doors with 18th-century strap hinges and a one-bay roof with a collar truss adjacent to the right wall of the dovecote.
