Description
Numbers 8 and 9, Cam's Hill, are dated 1789 on the stringcourse and were originally one house. The building is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings and a band at the first floor, featuring a rendered plinth and a tiled roof. It stands 2 and a half storeys tall and has four windows, which are sashes with boxed frames and cambered head linings on the ground floor. The central door also has a cambered head lining and is a six-panelled door, with the top two panels now glazed. There are steps leading up to the door. Numbers 8 and 9, along with numbers 11 to 13 (consecutive) and numbers 15 and 16, as well as the street lamp opposite the entrance to Portchester Road, form a group. Numbers 11 to 13 and the street lamp are of local interest.
