Description
The Old Manor House is a house that dates from the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It features walls made of brickwork in Flemish bond, with blue headers on the east side, cambered openings on the ground floor, and a plinth. The rear walls show exposed framing with bricknogging, and the middle unit has horizontal timber bands. The roof is ½-hipped thatch with eyebrow dormers and a central shafted stack, while the rear has tiled valleys and lower courses. This timber-framed house has later cladding on three sides and extensions at the rear.
The south front has one storey and an attic, with four windows above three. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door set within an open rustic porch that has a tiled roof. The rear of the house features gabled wings on each side and a larger central unit from the mid-19th century, with irregular fenestration of casements. The walls at each end are made of flint with brick quoins and a plinth, and the gables contain bricknogged framing.
