Description

A Georgian house, with a neo-Georgian addition (forming a double pile) to the north. C18 and c1900. Walls of red brickwork in Flemish bond, parapet with stone coping and moulded cornice, rubbed flat arches, 1st floor band. Steep ½-hipped slate roof, nipped tile roof to the second phase. South elevation: 2 storeys, 2.1.1 windows, with projecting centrepiece, the wall being brought forward to the ground-floor of the east -side (with 2 windows). Sashes in reveals. Victorian gabled brick porch, with re-used classical doorcase. North (entrance) front: symmetrical of 2 storeys and attic, 5 windows, similar features, with an eaves, and an arched doorway of rusticated brickwork with swags, fanlight, and 6-panelled door. The west elevation is 2 storeys, 3.3 windows, the south side being bows- shaped. Irregular group of single-storeyed service wings at the east end, with an open verandah of 4 columns on the south (garden) side.
