Description
The Post Office Cottage and Old Schoolhouse is a 17th and 18th century, two-storey timber-framed building that has been divided into two dwellings. It features an 18th-century timber-framed extension on the north-east side and a small forward projection with one window on the south-west side. The roof is covered with old tiles and has a hipped design, sloping to a low eaves on the north-east side, with a small hip over the south projection. A large central chimney stack is prominent. The timber framing is exposed on the front and rear, with painted brick infill, while the south-west wall and the west side of the front are clad in Flemish bond brickwork, which includes a first-floor band in the inner section and a plinth. The windows consist of casements and small 16-light sashes in the projection. There is a central entrance with a six-panelled door at the front.
