HIGHCLERE SU 46 NW HOLLINGTON 2/4 Barn at Zell House Farm, 60yds south-west of the house 30.5.84 II

C17 and later. Five-bay timber-frame with aisles on all sides. Heavy truss with arch-braced purlins jointed to the main rafters, Queen posts, 5 posts have been replaced in their lower part by brick piers. Hipped tile roof (with scalloped patterns on the north end), hip above entrance and gable to later hay-loft door (will cill at eaves level). Walling in brickwork of several periods, with some filled-in vent slots.
