Description

This is a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century, situated on North Street in Kingsclere. They present as a wide, symmetrical composition with a two-storey, six-window front. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles, featuring carved brick dentil eaves. A prominent central stack is constructed of blue brickwork, arranged in panels. The walls are of blue brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with red brick dressings. Architectural details include an eaves fascia, quoins, a first-floor band incorporating blue brick header decoration, and a plinth. Stone hood-moulds are present above the ground-floor windows. The windows are cast iron casements. Shallow porches, each with a pointed arch on brick pilasters, lead to boarded doors set within solid frames.
