Description
These are a pair of houses likely dating from the late 1840s, situated on the west side of Old Tiverton Road. Constructed with Flemish bond brickwork, they feature a natural slate roof and brick chimney stacks with decorative bands.
The houses have a symmetrical design, each with a three-window front across two storeys. A distinctive feature is an eaves frieze of trefoil-headed cusps. The windows are set within flat rubbed brick arches and are 2 over 2-pane sashes with margin lights; the left-hand house retains shutters to its ground floor windows. Each house has a centrally positioned doorway, characterized by a pilastered doorcase, a keyblock, and a cornice with a dentil frieze resting on shaped consoles. The doorcase includes panelled reveals, and the doors themselves are six-panel affairs with a three-pane overlight.
The interior has not been inspected, but may contain features of architectural interest.
