Description

Lawn Farmhouse is a building that dates from the 17th century, with alterations made around 1840 and some modern additions. It features a two-storey central block flanked by taller two-storey gabled crosswings. The north side, which is of a later date, has a symmetrical facade with three windows. The roof is tiled and has low eaves on the west side, along with two small gabled dormers. There are Victorian chimney stacks, one of which is part of four separate flues that likely replaced an earlier stack.

The upper part of the farmhouse showcases an exposed massive timber frame with brick infill and lower walling. The north facade is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring rubbed flat arches, stone cills, and a plinth. The older section has casement windows, while the later part has sash windows with 16 panes.

The east entrance, which dates from the 18th century, includes a moulded canopy and a six-panelled door. The central entrance on the north side is marked by a gabled brick porch with a four-centred arched opening, beneath which is a four-panelled door topped by a plain fanlight. There are also later small extensions, one of which has a slate roof.
