Description

This is a barn located at Corseley Farm, approximately 30 metres southeast of the house. It dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick plinth from the 19th and 20th centuries, and it is clad in weatherboard from the 20th century. The roof is covered with Welsh slate from the 19th century. The structure consists of three bays.

The south side originally had opposing cart entries, which have been boarded over and replaced with 20th-century doors and a window. There is also a large glazed area on the left side and solar heating panels on the roof, which are not considered of special interest. A 20th-century garage door is present on the east gable, and there is a lean-to added on the west side that is also not of special interest.

Inside, the timber frame retains several features, including a sole plate, jowelled wall posts, a mid rail, an eaves plate, and studs that form fairly narrow panels. Arched braces extend from the posts to the mid rail and up to the tie-beams. The roof has later queen strut trusses with clasped purlins, along with some old rafters and a ridge piece. The barn is included for its group value.
