WITHYHAM CORSELEY ROAD TQ 53 NW (south side), Groombridge 6/300 Barn at Corseley Farm approx 30 m to south east of house

GV II

Barn. C16, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame on C19 and C20 brick plinth with C20 weatherboard cladding; C19 Welsh slate roof. 3 bays. Former opposing cart-entries boarded over and with C20 doors and window on south side; south side also has large glazed area on left and solar heating panels on roof (not of special interest). C20 garage door to east gable; added lean-to on west side not of special interest. Interior: timber frame retains sole plate, jowelled wall posts, mid rail, eaves plate, studs forming fairly narrow panels, arched braces down from posts to mid rail and up to tie-beams; later queen strut roof trusses with clasped purlins, some old rafters and ridge piece. Included for group value.
