Description
Pollies Hall is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier and was restored in the early 20th century. It features a timber frame with plaster infilling, and the ground floor is partly faced with painted brick. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, featuring gablets. There is a central brick stack, a tall brick stack on the north side elevation, and a shorter stack on the south elevation. The north side elevation jetties out. The front elevation includes arched braces, two three- and four-light casement windows, and a modern gabled porch in the center. A plan of Groombridge from the Buckhurst Terrier of 1598 indicates that the current site of the house was occupied at that time.
