Description
Ebenezer Particular Baptist Chapel, dated 1817, is a two-storey brick building with a stuccoed front. The façade features pilasters of quoins on either side, topped with a pediment. It has three sash windows on each floor, all with intact glazing bars. A string course runs above the ground floor and continues over the windows, which are designed with rusticated arches. The first floor has a cornice above it, with a central round-headed arch containing windows and a keystone. This central arch is accentuated by a higher cornice that forms a centerpiece. The entrance features a doorway with rusticated pilasters, a projecting cornice, a parapet, a segmental tympanum, and double doors with six fielded panels. The rear, facing Tackleway, is constructed of red brick with yellow stock dressings and includes a pediment with three round-headed windows. The building has a slated roof. The first service was held in 1817.
