Description

This is a Congregational Chapel dating to 1811. It is a two-story, three-bay structure facing the street. The building is constructed of red brick with a moderately low-pitched slate roof. A prominent pediment extends across the entire front, above a brick cornice. The pediment features a triangular recessed panel containing a round window at its centre. The front has three tall recessed areas, with windows within each. The first-floor windows are segmentally arched at the ends, while the ground-floor windows are round-arched. All windows have gauged brick arches, and the side windows are also set within recesses. The ground-floor windows have interlacing glazing bars. A brick string course runs along the first floor. The central entrance has double doors set within a stuccoed reveal, flanked by half-fluted pilasters, with a box hood above, supported by cast iron brackets. The hood has a mutule cornice and a panelled soffit.
